IMPORTANT: Before you start hooping, it's very important you know what kind of flow you like the most. There are different kinds of hulahoops varying in quality, thickness, material etc for different kinds of fitness and flow.Buying a hoop based on your skill level, your height/size, the tricks and transitions you are interested in is very important. Here, ONE SIZE DOESN'T FIT ALL

To make it less complicated for you, I've listed a few most important things to keep in mind before buying your hoops.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF HOOPS

1. HDPE( High Density Polyethylene) hoops-

  • Perfect for on-body flow.

  • Mostly comes in tubing size of 3/4", Sturdier and heavier than Polypro which makes it easier for beginners to learn on-body moves.

  • On body flow can relax your mind and body, burn those extra kilos and defintely fun.

  • Off body moves like isolations, chest rolls etc will be challenging as you can bruise easily.

2. POLYPRO(Polypropylene)  Hoops.

  • Perfect for off-body flow Comes in tubing size of 3/4", 5/8", 1/2" and are lightweight making it perfect for off body moves.

  • On Body flow is possible with polypros depending on your skill level. Although,it's not suitable to learn on body hooping with this if you are a beginner.

3. DANCE/FITNESS Hoops-  These are weighted hoops that mainy helps in toning your body and burning calories.

NOTE: RIGHT HOOP SIZE For Beginners (on body flow)- Using a measuring tape, measure the diameter of the hoop from the ground till slightly above your belly button in inches/cm. That'll be the right size. Always go for a bigger size as the hoop will travel slowly around your body by making it easier for you to learn.

DIFFERENT KINDS OF FLOW

1. ON-BODY FLOW/HOOPING- As the name suggests, this form includes waist hooping, chest, shoulder, knee, nose(nooping), foot, palm and elbow hooping.

2. OFF-BODY FLOW/HOOPING- This form includes off body tricks like isolations, wedgies, coin flips, body rolls etc.

Note For Beginners-Always buy hoops made of polypro material for this kind of flow as it's lightweight and you don't bruise easily.
